Kaisa Salmi: Ronda

Helsinki Cathedral's Bell Tower

Kaisa Salmi: Ronda

Address: Crossing of Yliopistonkatu and Unioninkatu

Ronda is an installation by Kaisa Salmi projected onto the wall of one of the bell towers of Helsinki Cathedral. The installation is based on an image that has been painted by hand using special polyaniline (PANI) pigmented paint, which allows the colour of the paint to be reproduced with exceptional clarity and richness on the reflecting surface.

Salmi has used the same technique to create a light installation that was projected onto the Hallgrímskirkjaan church in Iceland and musical visualisations with master pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland and the Barbican Centre in London.
