BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer)
Where: Kaapelitehdas (Cable Factory), Merikaapelihalli, Tallberginkatu 1
When: Tue 8 January, 4pm–9pm
BYOB is a one-night exhibition in which participants get to present their art using their own projectors (beamers). Anything goes, as long as it is projected: from video art to VJ sets, slideshows to home videos. BYOB is part of the official Lux Helsinki programme for the third time; in the two previous years it has attracted hundreds of participants and lots of brilliantly unique light art.
The first BYOB event was held in Berlin in 2010. Since then BYOB happenings have been held around the world, from New York and Cape Town to Moscow and Tokyo. Lux Helsinki invites everyone who is interested to present your art at the Cable Factory on Tuesday 8 January starting from 4pm.
Of course, you can also come just to enjoy the atmosphere, the music, all the projections and meet new people! The minimum age is 18. This event is accessible for persons with reduced mobility.
Instructions for participants:
– Bring with your own beamer (multimedia projector, slide projector, etc.) and any other equipment and extension cords that you may need. A few beamers will be available for use on a first come, first served basis, but you will still need your own laptop containing your material.
– Multiple electrical outlets throughout the hall will be available.
